Gertrude Herman

BOARDMAN - A funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel for Mrs. Gertrude "Trudy" Herman, 99, who died early Wednesday morning at Park Center Health Care in Boardman.

Trudy was born on Nov. 27, 1916, in England, a daughter of Albert and Emily (Rawlings) Lissimore, and came to the United States in 1921.

She was a graduate of Chaney High School and had worked at Sears in the customer service department.

Trudy was an organist for the Mahoning Methodist Church and the Austintown Baptist Church for 39 years. She was a very dedicated and an active member of the Austintown Baptist Church.

Her greatest enjoyment was being with her family.

Trudy married Frank Herman on Nov. 30, 1937, and he died in 1995.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Robert Herman of Youngstown; six grandchildren, Timothy, Gregory and Frank Herman, Nicolette Yuschak, and Emily and Bridget Herman; and two great-granddaughters, Makaila and Brooklyn Yuschak.

Trudy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; and her son, William Herman.

Friends may call on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
