Youngstown . . Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Mrs. Gertrude Wayne age 86 of Youngstown who died Tuesday morning in Camelot Arms .
Gertrude was born Sept. 30, 1918 in Youngstown a daughter of Robert and Helen Murphy Hall.
She had attended the Rayen School where she played basketball and softball, worked at Sheet & Tube as a crane operator during WWII , was a former member of St. Edward's Catholic Church in Youngstown, was a member of the Mahoning County Democratic Central Executive Committee in 1965 and the Democractic National Committee.
She was married to Charles C. Wayne on February 27, 1935 and died Feb. 13, 1995.
She leaves two daughters Cathy Kim Wright of Sebring and Helen Ralph De Rhodes of New Middletown , a son Robert Twila Wayne of North Benton, Ohio, numerous grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren.
Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, a son Charles C. Wayne and a sister Mary Louise Ross.
Friends may call two hours prior to the funeral service Thursday at the funeral home.
