AUSTINTOWN - Services will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Mr. Glendon Ray Carroll, 62, who died Sunday at. St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
He was born June 6, 1950, in Cumberland, Md., a son of Truman and Flora Reynolds.
Glendon moved to this area as a child and was a 1969 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School.
He had married the former Karen Sweeney on Nov. 25, 1971, and the two of them moved to Lewiston, N.Y. in 1981. While in New York, he had worked at Praxair as a cryogenic technician for 18 years. He was a member of The Lewiston Kiwanis, was a volunteer fireman for the Upper Mountain Fire Department for 10 years and was very active with the Peach Festival in Lewiston.
In 1998, he and his wife, Karen, moved back to Austintown and he had retired from Northside Hospital from the Maintenance Department.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family, but he also enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing and boating. Glendon's love of life, friendship and dedication for helping others was honored through him giving the gift of life through Lifebanc.
He had belonged to the Ohltown United Methodist Church, Mineral Ridge and the Retreads Motorcycle Club.
Glendon leaves his wife, Karen; daughter Jessica Justin Ernst Carroll of Grand Island, N.Y.; two sons, Glenn Dana Carroll of Lewistown and Vincent Tessa Carroll of Niles; two sisters, Lois Bob Fleps of Youngstown and Donna Ray Fuller of Lewisville; a brother, Harold Julie Carroll of Youngstown; and six grandchildren, Mountain, Magdalena, Natalie, Alexis, Joycelyn Carroll and Rea Gaugler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Russell Eugene Carroll; and a brother, David Reynolds.
Friends may call Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
