AUSTINTOWN - Glenn R. "Russ" Garrett, 72, died Saturday evening at the Cleveland Clinic, surrounded by his family.
Russ was born Jan. 17, 1943, the son of Adam and Idabell (Minner) Garrett.
He was a graduate of West Middlesex High School and was veteran of the U.S. Army.
Russ worked for General Motors for 28 years, until his retirement in 1993.
He was an avid sports shooter and fisherman, and loved kayaking. Russ owned several race horses and was a member of the USTA.
Russ is survived by his wife, the former Helen Holland, whom he married May 15, 1964; his mother, Idabell Garrett of West Middlesex, Pa.; two sons, Jeff (Jennifer) Garrett of Salem and Jon (Amy Youness) of Seattle; two brothers, David (Joyce) Garrett of West Middlesex and Chuck (Donna) Garrett of Sharpsville, Pa.; and two grandchildren, Cole and Clara.
He was preceded in death by his father, Adam Garrett.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
