BERLIN CENTER - Prayers will begin Monday at 4:00 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, North Jackson Chapel, followed by a Memorial Mass at 4:30 PM at Our Lady of the Lakes St. Catherine Church for Grace Sudano, 73, who died Tuesday evening at Grande Oaks Nursing Home surrounded by her family.
Grace was born January 12, 1940, in Ellwood City, PA, to Alexander and Alice Amelia (Kinchius) Pazsint.
She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1957. Grace worked for 17 years as a Social Worker for Trumbull County Children Services in the foster care and adoption units, retiring in 1984.
She was a dedicated mother and grandmother and devoted her life to her children and always welcomed children in need into her home.
She and her husband moved to Alaska in 1994 where they owned and operated Beluga Lou's which was a business offering fishing tours. While her husband guided tours, Grace cooked and ran the inn. She was also formerly employed by ABAS Answering Service in Alaska.
Grace was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Lakes, St. Catherine Church in Lake Milton and was a member of the Ladies Guild. She volunteered her time often at the soup kitchen at St. Vincent DePaul's in Youngstown. Grace enjoyed playing Scrabble and most of all spending time with her family.
Grace is survived by her husband, Louis Anthony Sudano, whom she married January 17, 1958; a daughter Diane (Joe) Baco of Berlin Center; four sons, Richard (Paula) of Alaska, Thomas (Jen) of Alaska, Mark of Berlin Center, and Daniel (Dawn) of Alaska; two sisters Sylvia Sicree of Dayton; her twin sister Rose Sayre of Alaska; four brothers, James Pazsint of Alaska, Dan Pazsint of Wampum, PA, Tom Pazsint of Wampum, PA and Mike Pazsint of New Castle; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 PM at the funeral home.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to St. Vincent DePaul Society, 208 W. Front St. Youngstown, OH, 44503.
