NEW MIDDLETOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church for Grace Marie (Mariotti) Traficant, 91, who died early Thursday morning, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
Grace was born Nov. 16, 1923, in Youngstown, to Pantoleone and Lucy (Labruno) Mariotti.
She was a graduate of The Rayen School and was a homemaker who dedicated her life to her family. Grace's great joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed dancing, entertaining their many friends and spending time at the family's winter home in Punta Gorda, Fla.
Grace's husband, Patrick P. Traficant, whom she married May 25, 1946, died Jan. 27, 1994.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia VanCise of Boardman and Jose (Jim) Mondora of New Middletown; a son, Dean (Lydia) Traficant of New Middletown; five grandchildren, Patrick (Allyson) Mondora, Nicole (Kevin) Barth, Paula Merolillo (Craig Gobel), Ariana and Alexzandria Traficant; five great-grandchildren, Dominic and Carmen Merolillo, Sarah and Emily Barth, and Gina Mondora; and her dear friend, Florence Roush.
Grace was preceded in death by two sisters, Antionette Jannone and Florence Trkula; and three brothers, Gabriel, Nicholas and William Mariotti.
Family and friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, and Tuesday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church.
Grace's family would like to thank the staff at Sterling House of Youngstown and St. Elizabeth Health Center SICU for their care and compassion.
