H. Ann Hill

POLAND — H. Ann Hill, 94, peacefully passed away, Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, at her home.

She was born Aug. 2, 1930, in Youngstown, a daughter of David Earl and Kathleen Starkey Montgomery. Ann was a 1948 graduate of South High School and furthered her education as she earned a bachelor’s degree from Mount Union College. 

She worked as a teacher at Youngstown City Schools before becoming a homemaker. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to various community organizations, including the Youngstown Area Federation of Women’s Clubs. A woman of strong faith, Ann was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she found joy and fulfillment in being a part of the quilters and rug makers clubs.

Ann is survived by her son, James (Lisa) Hill of Poland; her grandson, Ross (Meg) Hill of Poland; and her nephew, David Rickert. 

She married John Hill on Aug. 22, 1952; he preceded her in death Jan. 23, 2010. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Rickert. 

Ann will be buried in Lake Park Cemetery.
