LOWELVILLE - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, 2726 Center Road, for Harold Heidel, 81, who died on Thursday morning in the Emergency Room at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Harold was born on Sept. 15, 1936, in Lucy Furnace, Pa., a son of the late Harrison D. Heidel and Jessie M. (Price) Kelley.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy for three years. Harold worked for Youngstown Sheet & Tube in the Spike Mill for 30 years and for LTV as a tow lift operator for three years.
In his free time, he enjoyed his beloved prize possession, a 1979 Grand Prix T-top, but his most precious memories were spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he loved and adored.
He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, the former Jacqueline J. Hamman, whom he married on Aug. 27, 1956; his children, Jeffery D. (Cristine) Heidel of Youngstown, Kimberley J. Heidel of Lowellville, with whom his made his home, and Karri L. (Sam) Tufaro of Poland; his grandchildren, Jeffery D. Heidel Jr., Amanda (Daniel) Knicely, and Nicholas, Vincent and Adrianna Tufaro; his great-grandchildren, Jeffery D. Heidel III, and Daniel and Anna Knicely; and his siblings, Judith Stringer, Donald Kelley, and Bonnie Grose.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by several half brothers and sisters.
Family and friends may call on Monday, Aug. 27, 2018, at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m.
