POLAND - Harry R. Manganaro, 77, passed away on January 8, 2025, at Heritage Manor. Born on February 22, 1947, in East Liberty, Pennsylvania, Harry's journey through life was vibrant and fulfilling, marked by strong relationships, a dedicated career, and a zest for adventure.
Harry devoted much of his working life to being a demolition contractor, where his expertise and skills helped shape the landscapes around him. Alongside this mainstay, he also successfully owned several used car lots. His education began in Pennsylvania, culminating in a high school graduation before he attended Youngstown State University for approximately two years. In addition to his professional achievements, Harry served his country with honor in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was on the ship involved in the USS Forrestal event.
Harry's personality was characterized by a loving and caring nature, always living life to the fullest. His spirit truly shone in the way he embraced hobbies and pastimes. An avid fisherman, he found joy in the simple act of fishing, often opting to release his catch. Harry loved to travel, frequently indulging in day trips that allowed him to explore new places and experiences. Atlantic City was a favorite destination, where he spent many joyous hours at the casinos, embracing the thrill of the game.
Harry leaves behind a legacy of love and happiness. He is survived by his fiancé and life partner, Joan Sterling, who stood by his side through life's many adventures. He is also survived by his daughter, Amanda (Trevor) Hancock, and son, Harry (Bethany) Manganaro, who carry forward his spirit in their lives. Harry was a proud grandfather to Liam and Finley Hancock. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by his brother, James Manganaro.
Harry reunites in peace with his deceased parents, James Manganaro and Rose Drummond, who undoubtedly will welcome him with open arms.
His warmth, kindness, and adventurous spirit touched many, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
There will be no services for Harry at this time.
