Harry "Ted" D. Parker

BOARDMAN - Harry "Ted" D. Parker, 93, passed away from pneumonia surrounded by loved ones on December 27, 2024, in Boardman, OH. 

Ted was born on August 5, 1931, in Clarksburg, WV, to the late Harry Chester Parker and Helen (Cottrill) Parker. 

Ted graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1951. He was elected President of his Senior Class and voted “Most Likely to Succeed”. He married the love of his life, Jacqueline Parker, on January 23, 1953. After a few years, Ted and Jacqueline relocated to Austintown and founded Dale Cleaners. This establishment served the community for an impressive 40 years, a testament to Ted's commitment and diligence, which he maintained until his retirement.

Ted was known for his vibrant, outgoing personality and his extensive knowledge of World War II history, a topic he studied deeply and passionately. His interests extended to walking and exercising, striving to achieve an admirable goal of walking between 7,000 to 10,000 steps daily which he maintained up to 2 days before his passing. An avid Cleveland Cavaliers fan, he found joy in sports and often shared this enthusiasm with family and friends. His travels with Jacqueline brought him great joy as they explored the world together, making beautiful memories that will forever be cherished by his loved ones.

Ted’s legacy lives on through his sons, Jeffrey D. (Colleen) Parker of Arizona and Dr. Richard D. (Jana) Parker, along with his daughter Cheri (Gary) Marple. He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Bob Pirock, Aric (Leela) Parker, Dr. Geoffrey (Becca) Marple, and Jaclyn (Joe) Green, and a delighted great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren: Luca, Jackson, Georgiana, Jaya Devi, and Caelan.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Jacqueline, his parents Harry Chester Parker and Helen (Cottrill) Parker, as well as his brothers Jack Parker and Phil Parker, and sister JoAnn Fisher.

Following Ted's wishes, a private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
