Youngstown--Services will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 P.M. at Higgins-Reardon
Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Hazel Virginia Clark, 83, formerly of Stephens
Street, who died late Sunday evening at Briarfield Manor. Hazel was born June 30, 1920
in Dairy, PA., the daughter of John and Sara Hall Barnhart and moved to this area in
1938.
As a homemaker, Hazel raised a large family and was an exceptional housekeeper. She
was an active member of Cornerstone Chapel and the church was a very important aspect
of her life. She also enjoyed playing bingo.
Her husband, Millard Glenn Clark, whom she married November 7, 1941, died October 6,
1982.
She leaves six daughters, Merriam Miller of Youngstown, Helen Snyder of Youngstown,
Sally Novak of Niles, Karen Williams of Canfield, Harriet Terrago of Austintown and
Janet Clark of Girard; six sons, Joseph G. Clark of Boardman, James F. Clark of San
Antonio, TX., John E. Clark of Austintown, Howard L. Clark of Austintown, Alan L.
Clark of Hubbard, and Mark D. Clark of Youngstown; one sister, Marge Ugrin of Mineral
Ridge; 50 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Winifred Hammond; two sons, Edward Dane
and Millard C. Clark; three brothers, John, Howard, and Charlie Barnhart; three sisters,
Helen Belan, Ester Lawrence, and Gladys Nupp.
Friends may call from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM Wednesday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral
Home, Austintown Chapel.
