YOUNGSTOWN - A prayer service will be held on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic’s Church in Youngstown, for Heather E. Gibson, 49, who died Friday evening.

Heather was born Sept. 9, 1969, in Youngstown, a daughter of William and Barbara (Fortunato) Gibson, Jr.

She was a 1988 graduate of Boardman High School, a former member of 4-H, the Canfield Rhythm Riders, Western Reserve Pony Club, Inter County Horseman Assoc., and the Up and Over Hunter Jumpers Association.

Heather leaves her parents, William and Barbara Gibson of Poland; a daughter, Erica Fareed of Youngstown; a son, Shakar Fareed of Youngstown; her sister, Allison (Michael) Schwartz of Poland; nephew Dominic Schwartz; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Constance Gibson, and Nicholas and Ann Fortunato.

Family and friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Heather’s memory to the family for her children.
