Poland - Services will be Tuesday at 9:15 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, and at 10:00 AM at St. Luke Church for Helen D. Coombs age 86 of Poland who died Friday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Helen was born November 26, 1919, in Youngstown, the daughter of George and Mary Hartos Dudash. Helen worked for the Boardman Schools as a baker at the Boardman Middle School for over 10 years before retiring. She had been a member of Sts Cyril and Methodius Church and its Infant Jesus of Prague Guild. She had also served as an officer for the Infant Jesus of Prague for the Diocese of Youngstown. She was currently an active member of St. Luke Church and its Altar and Rosary Society where she had served as treasurer. She had also volunteered at the church, cleaning, and baking pizzas and kolachi.
Her husband Gordon E. Coombs whom she married May 31, 1952, died July 7, 1977.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Ellen and her husband Joe Brannigan of Canfield, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by two sisters Elizabeth Zynski, Mary Hammer, and five brothers, Joseph, Michael, John, George
and a twin brother Andrew Dudash.
Friends may call Monday from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
