Austintown - There will be services Monday at 11AM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph Church for Helen K. Janca, 85, who passed away at her home.
Helen was born July 29, 1921 in Duffield, Michigan a daughter of Frank and Katherine Nencek Okenka.
She came to this area in 1966 from Kansas City, Missouri. She was a homemaker. She was an avid card player and golfer. She was good at sewing and was an excellent baker. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the St. Joseph Church and its Altar and Rosary Society and was in charge of Foot Prints. She worked in the church hall where she helped with funeral luncheons.
Her husband John Joseph Janca Sr. whom she married June 15, 1946 passed away March 6, 2005.
Helen is survived by her son John Susan Janca Jr. of Canfiel; and two granddaughters Laurel Janca and Ashley Janca.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brothers and sisters Josephine Novak, Anastacia Miller, Anthony Okenka, Joseph Okenka, Betty Niznak, Rose Gasparovic, and Edward Okenka.
Friends may call Sunday from 5 to 7PM at the funeral home.
The family requests memorial contributions take the form of donation to Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market Street, Boardman Ohio 44512
