NEW MIDDLETOWN - A memorial service will be on Friday, May 4, at 6 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, for Mrs. Helen G. Parknavy, 92, who died Friday at Windsor House.
She was born May 10, 1919, in Penowa, Pa., a daughter of John and Helen Masonic Fashank.
Helen retired May 12, 1984, from Ohio Bell Telephone, working in the Service Department.
She married John Parknavy on Sept. 4, 1937, who died March 11, 1968.
Helen leaves her daughter, Elaine Stroup of Poland; one sister, Betty Hudak of Youngstown; two brothers, John Carmel Fashank of Canton and Gerald Marge Vellasquez of Boardman; a granddaughter, Becky Jeff Geltz; and two great-grandsons, Brad Geltz and Specialist Bryan Krystal Geltz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Margaret Hudak and Rose Ciavariella; a granddaughter, Nancy Stroup; and a son-in-law, Ben Stroup.
The family would like to thank Dr. Art Duran and the staff at Masternick Memorial for the loving care of Helen.
Friends may call on Friday from 5 p.m. till the time of service at the funeral home.
