CANFIELD - Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, for Helen M. Specht, 92, who died Wednesday morning at Briarfield Ashley Nursing Home.
Helen was born Aug. 25, 1922, in Youngstown, the daughter of Stanley and Kathrine (Markiewez) Glowacky.
She was a graduate of South High School and worked as a machine operator for General Electric for 13 years. Helen also worked for A&P and Jordan Candy for several years.
Helen was a member of St. Dominic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.
She is survived by her husband, William J. Specht Jr., whom she married Jan. 30, 1951; a son, William J. Specht III of Canfield; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Frazier of Austintown.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Stanley, Walter and Edward Glowacky; and a sister, Dottie Glowacky.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Helen's family would like to thank the staff at Briarfield and Hospice of the Valley for their care and compassion given to her.
