AUSTINTOWN - Services will be Tuesday at 10:00 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, and at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Helen Josephine Valentine age 78 of Austintown who passed away Friday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Helen was born November 26, 1926, in Leisenring # 3, PA, the daughter of Vincent and Anna Palenchar Stunja.
She had been a tutor at St. John's Elementary School in Lorain, Ohio before coming to this area in 1974. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, St. George's Lodge # 66 in Austintown, the Sacred Heart League, and had been a former board member for the Association for Children with Learning Disabilities in Elyria, Ohio.
Her husband Neil C. Valentine whom she married March 29, 1950, died May 12, 1994.
She is survived by her two daughters Elizabeth Janice Valentine, and Annette J. Valentine both of Austintown, and her son Neil Vincent and wife Karen Valentine of Columbia City, Indiana, three sisters, Elizabeth Stecz of PA, Shirley and husband Bernard Kalinay of Austintown, and Barbara and husband Stanley Suvoy of PA, three brothers, John and wife Betty Stunja, Edward and Eleanor Stunja, and Richard and wife Diane Suchevits all of Pennsylvania, two granddaughters, Evelyn Grace and Julia Mae Valentine.
Friends may call from 4 PM to 7 PM Sunday and from 4 PM to 7 PM Monday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
