YOUNGSTOWN There will be services Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, and at 10 a.m. at St. Brendan Church for Henry Grossi, 95, who passed away Sunday morning at the Maison Aine.
Henry was born Sept. 1, 1911 in Conifer, Pa., a son of Fiore and Angelina Martini Grossi, and came to this area in 1923.
He was a chef, retiring from the Pick Ohio Hotel in 1975 with more than 43 years of service. He then went to work for the Profit Food Co. at the Lordstown GM Plant.
Henry served his country in the Army during WWII and was a staff sergeant in the Atlantic Theatre and received a Bronze Star.
Henry leaves his wife, the former Veronica Cvetkovich, whom he married March 2, 1946; a son, Lawrence J. Cheryl Grossi of Stow; a brother, John Grossi of Lakeland, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; his son, Henry J. Grossi, who passed away Dec. 30, 2006; a sister, Mary Martini; and four brothers, Aldo, Stanley, Joseph and Pheno Grossi.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
