POLAND - Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel for Mrs. Hilda L. Greene, 87, who died Saturday morning at Masternick Memorial in New Middletown, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Greene was born Dec. 20, 1922, in Portsmouth, England, a daughter of Albert and Ellen Clemens Cripps moved to the USA in 1946 moving to Poland in 1947.
She was a veteran of the Royal Air Force as a Radio Operator during World War II. Mrs. Greene was a homemaker a former member of the Poland Presbyterian Church and the English/British War Brides Local Chapter.
She was married to Lewis E. Greene, whom she married Jan. 20, 1944, and he died Jan. 19, 2002.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Jane Kenneth Collins of Spring, Texas and Ms. Kathy Greene of Poland; one son L. Britt Judy Greene of Poland; four granddaughters, Kelly Chad Volovar, Amy Stephen Smith, Allison and Erin Greene; and one great-grandson, Chad Volovar II.
Hilda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five sisters, Ellen, Edith McCallum, Dorothy Willis, Julie Meyers and Elsie Harfield; and three brothers, Albert, William and Arthur Cripps; and one grandson, Kenneth James Lewis "Kasey" Collins.
Friends may call Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Rainbow Chapter.
