AUSTINTOWN - Services will be Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Ida Marie "Dolly" John age 73 formerly of Wilcox Rd. who passed away Tuesday afternoon at Hospice of Medina County.
Dolly was born November 2, 1932, in Salem, Ohio the daughter of Harry W. and Catherine Thompson Hoover.
She moved to this area in 1949 from Johnston, Ohio. She had worked at the J.C. Penny Store in the Mahoning Plaza in Youngstown as an office worker for over 18 years before retiring. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed bingo and cake decorating. She especially enjoyed being a grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Hayden R. John whom she married April 16, 1949, a daughter Mary C. "Cathy" Larry Eckert of Medina, a daughter-in-law Debbie John of Austintown, a sister Linda Ronald Snyder of Cortland, five grandchildren Rick Lisa John, Rob John and his fiancee Julie, Russ John, Julie Ron Fadel, and Amy Kevin Mineo, seven great-grandchildren, Melina John, Nathan John, Jared Fadel, Samuel Fadel, Abigail Fadel, Isabella Mineo, and Christian Mineo, and a brother in law Roger, and two sisters in law Pat and Marilyn.
She was preceded in death by a son Robert R. John, a great-grandson Adam Fadel, a sister Eleanor Brown, and two brothers Raymond, and Harry Hoover.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Friday evening, and from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
The family requests that material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice of Medina County 797 N. Court Street Medina, Ohio 44256.
