AUSTINTOWN - Services will be Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Austintown Community Church for Irene Caroline Sutton age 86 of Austintown who passed away Saturday afternoon at Austinwoods Care Center.
Irene was born March 25, 1919, in Youngstown, the daughter of Elmer and Delilah Miller Bergman.
She had worked transporting students to and from the Leonard Kirtz School for over 19 years, before retiring in 1977. She was a lifelong member of the Austintown Community Church, and had served on the Mahoning County School for the retarded parent council.
Her husband Jack Sutton whom she married June 14, 1939, died October 9, 1964.
She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, by her friends and family, Jacquelin Richard Kidd Klein of Austintown, four sons, Terry Marianne Sutton of Ocala, FLA, Robert Ruthann, Kenneth Jane, and James Pamela Sutton all of Austintown, two sisters, Delores Harvey Haines of New Bedford, PA, and Mitzi Morton of Tucson, AZ, twelve grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by a son Chuckie Sutton, and three sisters, Eleanor Bergman, Alberta Good, and Shirley Lemke.
Friends may call from 4 PM to 8 PM Wednesday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, and for one hour prior to services Thursday morning at the Austintown Community Church.
