POLAND Irmaleen Trahey, 84, passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Poland.
Born May 6, 1924, Summerhill, Pa., she was a daughter of Charles and Florence Hettle Brumert and came to this area as a child.
She was a homemaker and in her younger years was employed in the offices of the Mazda Lamp Plant. She was a graduate of East High School. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church and its Altar and Rosary Society.
Her husband, James M. Trahey Jr., whom she married May 7, 1949, died July 22, 1987.
She leaves one son, Thomas of Breckenridge, Colo.; two daughters, Patricia of Denver, and Barbara William Smyers of Poland; and a brother, Raymond of Boardman.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Theisler and Dorthy Rubenstahl; and two brothers, Donald Brumert and Gerald Brumert.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
Funeral services will begin Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Nicholas Church at 10:30 a.m.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley in Irmaleen¹s memory.
