POLAND - Jack Nelson Huey, 85, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on August 9, 2023.
Jack was born June 21, 1938, in Indianapolis, IN, the son of the late Clyde S. and Lois M. (Neeb) Huey.
A graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, Jack proudly served our country in the United States Air Force Reserves for six years.
In 1983 Jack moved his family to the Youngstown area taking a job at Aluminum Color Industries as sales manager, overseeing production and engineering. He worked there for 21 years until his retirement in 2003.
Jack was a real car nut! He loved his NASCAR and racing sports cars. He was a talented designer and builder, always tinkering with something, and passed that talent and appreciation for design and building on to his children and some of his grandchildren. Over the years he adored his dogs, but most of all, Jack loved and cherished his family. His children and grandchildren were the lights of his life.
Jack will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Judith (Craven) Huey, whom he married March 26, 1961, in Franklin, IN. Together they shared 62 years of marriage and four children. He is survived by two sons, Douglas (Laurie) Huey of
Wadsworth, OH and Jeffrey (Lori) Huey of Hermitage, PA and by daughter Barbra Smrecansky of Crown Point, IN, ten grandchildren; Kyle Huey, Kaitlyn (Aaron Fonderlin) Huey, Connor (Lexi Mentzel) Huey, Jordan and Morgan Huey,
Jackson, Taylor, Lily, Sam, and Kade Smrecansky, and two great grandchildren, Bryce and Jack Fonderlin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Amy Huey, and sister Shirley McCarley.
There will be no services at this time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack’s memory to Hospice of the Valley or to Angels for Animals.
