NORTH JACKSON - Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, North Jackson Chapel for Jack R. Liggitt, 82, who passed away Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Jack was born Sept. 29, 1935, in Lisbon, a son of the late Charles A. and Marian (Ewing) Liggitt.
Jack was a 1954 graduate of David Anderson High School in Lisbon. He served his country in the Army stationed in Germany. In 1996, Jack retired after 30 years with GM Lordstown. He enjoyed model trains, woodworking, gardening, and camping with his family.
Jack leaves his wife of 56 years, the former Betty M. Wandle, whom he married Sept. 1, 1961; two daughters, Melinda M. Liggitt of Newbury and Dianna L. Liggitt of Youngstown; a son, Jeffrey A. (Lori) Liggitt of Youngstown; four grandchildren, Jeffrey A. Liggitt, Jack A. Liggitt, Charlotte R. Liggitt, and Amanda M. Liggitt; three sisters, Delores (Kent) Morris of Barberton, Linda Liggitt Mahoney of Spring, Texas, and Judy (William) Chappel of Medina; two brothers, Gerald (Diane) Liggitt of Lisbon and Fred (Linda) Liggitt of Salem; and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Liggitt of Boardman.
Jack was also preceded in death by sister, Maxine Roberts and a brother, Donald Liggitt.
Family and friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
