AUSTINTOWN Funeral services will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the
Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, and at 10 a.m. at St.
Joseph Church in Austintown for Jack E. Shea, 83, who passed away early
Monday morning.
Jack was born Feb. 10, 1924 in Youngstown, a son of Timothy Edward and Ruth
Samuels Shea.
Jack attended The Rayen School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving
during WWII.
Jack worked for Republic Steel as a Mill Wright, and later became a foreman
for 37 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Church and a former member of
St. Edwards Church. Jack¹s greatest love was for his family. He was a
wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and will be
deeply missed.
His wife the former June M. McLaughlin, whom he married April 23, 1949,
passed away Feb. 12, 2007.
Jack leaves five daughters, Joyce Jack Stabile of Hubbard, Terri Jim
Centafanti, whom he made his home with in Austintown, Katy Dan Schrader of
Austintown, Dorothy Bill Klasic Vittorio of Youngstown, and Jeannie Lutsi
of Lubbock, Texas; three sons, Tim Joan Shea of Austintown, Dennis Shea of
Quoque, N.Y., and Patrick Breen Julie Shea of Columbiana; a sister,
Dorothy Shea of Girard; a brother, Bill Shea of Austintown; 17
grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Jack was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John
"Jackie" E. Shea; a granddaughter, Shannon Vittorio; and two sisters, Eileen
Fitzsimmons and Elinor Merdic.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
