Jackie M. Chance

YOUNGSTOWN - Jackie M. Chance, 78, died peacefully on November 20, 2024, at the Inn at Christine Valley, surrounded by her beloved family. 

Born March 29, 1946, in Youngstown, the daughter of Dominic and Josephine (Ponzio) Caputo. 

She was a devoted longtime secretary for the Austintown School District, concluding her career at Frank Ohl Middle School. Jackie’s dedication to education and her warm presence made her an integral part of the school system. 

A proud graduate of Chaney High School, Jackie maintained a vibrant connection with her classmates through her active involvement in her high school reunion committee. She found joy in planning gatherings and celebrations, reflecting her innate talent for party planning, which became a cherished part of her identity.

In retirement, she volunteered her time at Stambaugh Auditorium, particularly enjoying the “Monday Musical” club events. In addition to her volunteer work, Jackie loved to attend craft shows and shopping. 

Jackie will be lovingly remembered by her children, Carrie (Aaron) Hurd of Boardman and Brian (Lisa) Chance of Lake Milton, along with her six cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Taylor, and Dominic Hurd, and Briley, Anthony, and Nolan Chance, who lovingly called her Nona. She took immense pride in her family, viewing her children and grandchildren as her proudest accomplishments.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home - Austintown Chapel, located at 4303 Mahoning Ave, Youngstown, OH 44515. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM.
