Austintown- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am Wednesday, in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Jacqueline 'Jackie' Gawron, age 71, of Austintown, who died Sunday morning at the Hospice House after an extended illness.
Jackie was born April 24, 1937 in Youngstown to the late Raymond and Ester Dyer McDonough.
She was a graduate of South High School in 1955, and the Youngstown School of Nursing in 1958.
She began her nursing career at Southside Hospital in 1958, she eventually transferred to Northside Hospital working at Tod's Babies and Children's Hospital where she retired in 1997.
She was a member of the church.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Louis Gawron whom she married June 20, 1959, he passed May 10, 2005. a son Patrick Gawron, a son-in-law George Baldridge.
She is survived by two daughters, Christina Baldridge of Hudson and Sharon Brent Van Hoose of Hilliard. A son Louis Stephanie Gawron of Columbiana. four grandchildren, Ryan and Jackie Baldridge, Christina and Sydney Van Hoose. Three sisters-in-law, Marie Rubino of Lowellville, Jacqulyn Gawron of Lowellville, and Dolores Neil Lynch of East Hartford, CT; Step father, Larry Barbara Housteau of Sun City, CA.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8pm at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, where prayers will be offered at 9am Wednesday morning.
Burial in Resurrection Cemetery.
