NORTH JACKSON - Prayers will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, North Jackson Chapel followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in North Jackson for Jacqueline "Jackie" K. Christner Goeltz, 76, who passed away Saturday evening at her home.
Jackie was born Dec. 11, 1934, in Detroit, the daughter of Edward Bernard and Ruth Helen Gregory Sheridan.
Jackie attended South High School. She was a prep cook and worked at Islay's, Corner Restaurant, Eat-N-Park, Country Kitchen and Austintown Bakery. She attended support groups through Higgins-Reardon and enjoyed reading, needlepoint and her family.
Her husband, Raymond "Ray" Goeltz, whom she married Sept. 17, 1982, passed away Sept. 19, 2003.
Jackie leaves two daughters, Cathleen Christner of Warren and Cynthia Miller of Austintown; two sons, Gregory A. LeeAnn Christner of Oberlin and Randall E. Christner of North Jackson; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Ronald W Christner; a sister, Betty Jean Brooke; and a brother, Donald M. Sheridan.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
