YOUNGSTOWN-Services will be Sunday at 8:00 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for James R. Berick age 56 of Youngstown, formerly of Oklahoma City, OK who died Thursday afternoon at Forum Northside Hospital after a four month battle with cancer.
Jim was born August 18, 1948, in Youngstown, the son of James D. and Georgine Hewitt Berick. He left this area over twenty years ago, returning five months ago.
He had been currently working at Antone's Banguet Centre as a chef until the time of his illness. He had formerly been the owner operator of Neon Design in Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife the former Lucretia Flowers whom he married April 27, 1988, his mother Georgine Yeager, two daughters, Lisa Byers of Niles, and Cynnamon Merle of Texas, a son James Gray of Youngstown, two sisters, Noreen Greg Cannell of Liberty, and Diane Jones of Youngstown, a brother Robert Yeager of Youngstown, and four grandchildren, Zachary, Christian, Seth, and Ian.
Besides his father he was preceded in death by his step father Robert Yeager who raised him, a sister, Deborah Connor, and a brother Ronald Yeager.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Sunday evening at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
