POLAND - Prayers will begin Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon at the Holy Family Church for James "Jim" Dattilo, 83, who died Friday evening at Hospice House.
Jim was born March 11, 1930, in New Castle, Pa., to Joseph and Mary (Christiano) Dattilo.
He was a 1948 graduate of New Castle High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Jim started his career at J.R. Rick Automobile and was also a factory representative for Dodge for many years. He later worked for Ameriprise Financial as a financial consultant for 35 years until retiring in 2000.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus No. 4471 and the Holy Family Church, where he served as a lector.
Jim is survived by his wife, Theresa (Logozzo), whom he married Oct. 2, 1976; and a brother, Arthur Dattilo of Boardman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Anthony Dattilo; and a sister, Matilda Dattilo.
Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family has requested that memorial tributes take the form of donations to the Salvation Army.
