POLAND A memorial service will be held at a later date for James W. Fercana, 75, who passed away Wednesday morning at his home.
James was born Nov. 21, 1934 in North Jackson, the son of James E. and Bernice Schlabaugh Fercana.
James was a veteran in the U.S. Army National Guard. He worked security at General Motors Lordstown. James was a Sergeant with the Canfield Police Department and then became a private investigator with Beaver Township Police. He was a race car driver and a member of the Tomahawk Sportsmen Club. He was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and raising his white tailed deer. His greatest love was for his family.
James leaves his wife, the former Susan Smith, whom he married July 23, 1960; his daughter, Peggy Bish of New Waterford; his two sons, Charles Fercana and Patrick Fercana, both of Poland; his sister, Donna Fetty of North Jackson; three grandchildren, Christopher, Michael and Susan; and his dog, Nickeya, ³Toy Poodle,² that he dearly loved.
James was preceded in death by his parents.
Arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Poland Chapel.
