AUSTINTOWN - Services will be Monday at 3:00 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for James Henry Lindsay age 81 who passed away Saturday evening at Omni Manor Care Center where he had been a resident.
James was born December 17, 1922, in Youngstown, the son of Joseph and Alice Ham Lindsay.
He had worked as a crane hook operator for LTV Steel for over 35 years before retiring in 1977. He then worked as a maintenance worker for Bankone for eleven years until 1990. Mr. Lindsay served in the U.S. Army during W.W.II. He was a former member of St. Brendan Church, and Amvets Post # 35.
His wife the former Ruth G. Schubert whom he married May 25, 1947, died January 6, 2003.
He is survived by his daughter Gertrude Myers of Norwich, CT., a brother Donald Lindsay of Victor, Montana, a sister Catherine Bobo of Leander, Texas, a grandson and a great-grandson both of Norwich, CT.
Besides his wife and parents he was preceded in death by four sisters, Esther Huzicko, Gertrude Veauthier, Lillian Bloomfield, and Avalon Drabison, and a brother Raleigh Lindsay.
