AUSTINTOWN - Prayers will begin Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, for James "Jim" Locketti, 55, who died early Friday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
Jim was born June 24, 1959, in Youngstown, to William V. and Ann M. (Vigeon) Locketti.
He was a 1977 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and started his career in sales at Ballys Fitness Center. Jim also worked several years as an auxiliary deputy sheriff for the Mahoning County Sheriff's office. He most recently worked for Verizon Wireless as a business sales manager since 1997.
Jim coached youth baseball and youth soccer for many years. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and also loved the Cleveland Indians and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Jim is survived by his wife, the former Judith Kane, whom he married Dec. 12, 1987; two daughters, Kaleigh Locketti of Chicago and Alexis Locketti, at home; a son, Jacob Locketti, at home; a sister, Jeana (Bobby) Beardman of Austintown; a brother, Billy (Holly) Locketti of Austintown; sisters-in-law Nancy (Mike) Constantine, Barb (Walt) Evanoski, and Peg (Paul) Sosnowski; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Gracie.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and brother Matthew M. Wojtowicz.
Family and friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
