YOUNGSTOWN - Prayers will begin Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Church, for James N. "Jamie" Moran, 51, who died early Thursday morning at Vibra Hospital, from complications from an industrial accident he sustained this past October.
Jamie was born July 8, 1963, in Sharon, Pa., the son of Richard D. and Elizabeth (Nicholas) Moran.
He was a 1982 graduate of Boardman High School, where he excelled in woodworking, winning several state awards for his projects. He later worked as a self-employed roofing contractor until the time of his injuries. Jamie liked antiques and loved to visit garage sales and flea markets.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Sandy Moran of Boardman; his best friend and soul mate, Sharon Morgan; a son, Nicholas J. Moran of Beloit; a daughter, Halle Moran of Boardman; four sisters, Mary "Micki" Moran of Chicago, Kelly (David) Wolford of Canfield, Meg Handel of Boardman and Maureen Brice of Boardman; a brother, Kevin M. (Stephanie) Moran of Lyndhurst; two stepbrothers, Keith (Debbie) Walters of New Middletown and Craig (Som) Walters of Minnesota; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth "Nicki" Nicholas; a brother, Rick Moran; and a stepbrother, Kurt Walters.
The Moran family would like to thank the Intensive Care Unit at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown and Vibra Hospital of the Mahoning Valley for their exceptional care for Jamie.
