YOUNGSTOWN Prayer services will be held Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Brendan Church for James L. Pasquale, 65, who passed away peacefully Thursday morning at the Hospice House.
He was born Feb. 7, 1943 in Youngstown, the son of Charles and Helen Sklarsky Pasquale.
James was a 1961 graduate of Chaney High School. He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a police officer/detective with the City of Youngstown since 1973, retiring in 1994. After retirement, he was an investigator with the Mahoning County Coroners Office for four years. He was an avid golfer and was past president of the YDGA. His greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
James leaves his wife, Sharon K. Brown, whom he married Jan. 16, 1965; a daughter, Helen Greg Zylka of Champion; two brothers, Robert Stephanie Pasquale and William Pasquale, both of Youngstown; two grandchildren, Jacob and Nicole Zylka; and two sisters-in-law, Bianca Pasquale and Susan
Pasquale.
James was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, John, Charles and Walter Pasquale.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form of donation to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
