CANFIELD - Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel for James R. Steinbeck Jr., 50, who died Tuesday morning at his home from undetected coronary artery disease.
Jim was born Sept. 12, 1958 in Youngstown, the son of James R. and Donna L. Garman Steinbeck.
He was a 1976 graduate of Chaney High School and later served in the U.S. Air Force. He then worked at Superior Beverage, then Tri County Distributors and most recently for the Mahoning County Engineers office for over 15 years.
Jim was an avid golfer and was a member of the John J. Buckley Post of the Catholic War Vets and its golf league. He also enjoyed coaching his son's Tri-T Boardman baseball team.
He is survived by his companion, Barb Kren; his parents, James and Donna Steinbeck of Las Vegas; a daughter, Brittany Steinbeck of Boardman;, a son, Jimmy Steinbeck of Boardman; a sister, Karen Pearly Carr of Austintown; two brothers, Robert Stephanie Steinbeck of Pittsburgh and Jeffrey Steinbeck of Las Vegas; and four nephews, Michael, Matthew and David Steinbeck and David Carr.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
