Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 5 PM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel for James M. Zimmers Jr., 71, who passed away Friday evening at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.
James was born Dec. 16, 1946 in Lowellville, a son of the late James M. and Mary (Yousko) Zimmers Sr.
James graduated from North High School. He served in the the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked for P&LE and then retired from CSX as a locomotive engineer. James was a member of Holy Family Church. When his sons were younger, he enjoyed coaching them in soccer and was also referee. He also had a love for fishing.
James leaves his wife, the former Mary Ann Kulik, whom he married April 20, 1968; two sons, James M. (Jackie) Zimmers III of Delaware, OH and Eric (Megan) Zimmers of Poland; five grandchildren, Derrick James, Kaitlyn Leann, Brayden Thomas, Aubrey Ann, and Elliot Mason; and three sisters, Mary Anne (Gary) Fluent of Hubbard, Barbara (Mark) Morelock of Chillicothe, OH, and Linda Murphy of Florida.
Family and friends may call Thursday from 4 to 5 PM at the funeral home.
