YOUNGSTOWN - There are no funeral services scheduled for Janet Almasy, 74, who died Wednesday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Janet was born in Niles on July 10, 1935 to the late Paul J. and Gertrude S. Robinson Almasy.
She was raised in Struthers, received her Associates Degree from Youngstown State University and then moved to New Carrollton, Md., where she was a manager for Amtrak. She returned to the Youngstown area in 1995.
Janet attended the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She was a supporter of the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Besides her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Geier Thompson and Betty Almasy.
She is survived by her nephew, David Geier; niece, Kathleen Eric Altman; brother-in-law, Ralph Thompson; and many friends.
