Janet Duke

AUSTINTOWN - Prayers will begin Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church for Janet J. Duke, 56, who died Sunday afternoon at Valley Care Health Northside Hospital.
Janet was born Jan. 6, 1957, in Youngstown, to William T. and Mary Louise (Smith) Shea Sr.
She worked for the Mahoning County Board of MRDD as a Transportation Aide for 20 years. Janet was also a life long member of St. Joseph Church. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, and spending time with her family as much as possible.
Janet is survived by her father; a daughter, Amy (Cory) Gilstrap of Georgia; a son, Clifford Duke of Austintown; a sister, Susan M. Shea of Austintown; a brother, William Jr. (Erma) of Struthers; four grandchildren, Bruzzy and Jamie Duke and Alyse and Makenzio Gilstrap; a great-grand-daughter, McKenna Stephens; a niece, Janet Shea (Christopher Giles); a great-niece, Makayla Shea; great-nephew, Christopher Giles; and her aunt, Dee Dee.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Family and friends may call today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Janet's cousins, Mikey Perry and Dorothy, and her close friend, Joellen, for supporting her through her time of need.
