AUSTINTOWN-Services will be Wednesday at 9:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, and at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church for Janice L. Gent age 55 of Austintown who passed away Saturday afternoon at her home after a seven month illness with lymphoma.
Janice was born June 4, 1949, in Youngstown, the daughter of Anthony J. and Virginia Argiro Jacola.
She attended the Immaculate Heart of Mary School and in 1967 graduated from Austintown Fitch High School. She later worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Company as a draftswoman before taken time of to care for her home and raise her family. Most recently had been a librarian at the Lynn Kirk Elementary School in Austintown for the past eleven years until the time of her illness. She was a member of St. Joseph Church.
Janice will always be remembered as a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, and grandmother, by her husband Thomas E. Gent whom she married August 8, 1970, her parents Anthony and Virginia Jacola of Austintown, her three daughters, Stacy M. and husband Atty. Steven Schermer of Weston, FLA., Lesley Ann Gent of Zelienople, PA, and Rebecca L. and husband Randy Dineen of Columbus, OH, her sister Janet L. and husband Richard Sternagel of Canfield, and her granddaughter Hayley Elise Schermer.
She was preceded in death by a grandson Timothy Alan Schermer.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 PM, and from 6 to 9 PM Tuesday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
The family requests that material tributes take the form of donations to either St. Joseph Church or the Lynn Kirk School Library.
