Jean Marie Freaney

December 11, 1930 — January 27, 2025

DUNEDIN, FL - Jean Marie Freaney, 94,  passed away on January 27, 2025. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. 

Jean was born, Dec. 11, 1930,  to Bill and Vera Wallace in Arcade, NY. 

She married the love of her life, Jack Freaney, on December 27, 1950. They were married for 53 years when Jack passed in 2004. Jean and Jack moved many times but finally called Youngstown, Ohio home in 1969. 

Jean was a member of St. Christine Church and was involved with many groups, including Saxon Club, Jr Seton, Infant of Prague, Southern Care Hospice and card groups.

 Jean relocated to Mease Life in Dunedin, Florida in July of 2023. She quickly made many friends and was very happy there. 

Preceding her in death were her husband Jack, her oldest son Kevin Freaney and her sister Joyce. 

She is survived by her children, John (Sally) Freaney, Maureen “Moe” (Peg) Freaney and Joe (Doug) Freaney; daughter-in-law Karen; sister Thelma Vullo; 5 grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. 

Her life was full and she is now reunited with Jack.

 Family and friends may call Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2 to 4 pm at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel. 

Prayers will begin Monday, February 3, 2025 at 10:15 am at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. Christine Church. 

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested material tributes take the form of donations to Akron Children's Hospital, Mahoning Valley, 6505 Market St. Boardman, OH 44512.
