Washingtonville- Funeral services will be 11am Tuesday, March 2nd. in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 485 Redondo Road for Emily Jean Gries, age 78, of Washingtonville, who died Sunday afternoon in the Hospice House with her family by her side.
Emily was born October 29, 1931 in to the late Julius and Inez Burkhart Gunderson.
She was a 1949 graduate of Wilson High School and worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube before starting her family. She was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she sang in the Choir and enjoyed helping with the Chicken and Roast Beef Dinners at the church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Bill E. Gries, they married May 1, 1952. She leaves two sons, Brian Gries of Washingtonville, and David Gries of Youngstown; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Pastor Kenneth D. Kelly officiant. Burial in Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call one hour prior to services 10am to 11am at the church.
