SANDUSKY …. Jean M. Moran, 72, of Sandusky passed away peacefully Friday, January 10, 2025, at her residence.
She was born January 25, 1952, in Youngstown, Ohio and was a 1970 graduate of Canfield High School.
She traveled to Sweden as a Rotary exchange student in high school. Jean advanced her education receiving a Bachelor Degree of Science in Education at the University of Dayton, Bachelor Degree of Arts in Music at Wittenberg University, and her Master Degree of Music at Bowling Green State University. She enjoyed her twenty-one years of teaching at Sandusky City Schools and teaching the Suzuki Piano Method through private lessons and institutes. Jean also fostered her love of learning and teaching through her travels and was an associate of the Ursuline Sisters Mission of Youngstown.
She is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, John J. “Jack” Moran; two daughters, Jamie (Scott) Kirby of Columbus, Ohio and Katie (Rocky Orlando) Moran of Golden, Colorado; two grandchildren, Brooke and Willow Orlando; siblings, Ken (Laurie) Hildebrand, Mark Hildebrand, David (Janet) Hildebrand, Keith (Jackie) Hildebrand, and Juan (Rufi) Gonzalez; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Roxanna (Lance) Hildebrand. Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, 4303 Mahoning Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio will assist the family with a celebration of Jean’s life at a later date.
Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky has been entrusted with local arrangements.
