CANFIELD - Funeral services will be celebrated, Thursday, at 11 a.m., at the Real Life Assembly of God Church, 12824 Salem Warren Road, Salem, for Mrs. Jeanne Louise Cummings, 65, who died Monday morning at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Cummings was born on Oct. 28, 1950, in Youngstown, daughter of Roy and Frieda (Roth) Martz.
She graduated from Boardman High School in 1969, before beginning her career at Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities, where she worked as a workshop specialist for 35 years, before retiring in 2015. One of her greatest joys was participating in activity nights at the workshop.
Jeanne was very involved in her church, the Real Life Assembly of God, where she taught Sunday school for over 20 years, worked in the women's ministry, participated in bible study and attended services regularly. She also visited shut-ins, with whom she made many great friendships. Her faith in God impacted all who knew her.
Jeanne's family was most important. She loved to spend time with them, especially at her family home.
She married the love of her life, Michael S. Cummings, on Sept. 14, 1985.
Jeanne leaves her three children, Heather (Michael) Eagle of Girard, Lindsay (Jeremy) Hart of Arkansas, and Courtney Cummings of Canfield; two sisters, Audrey Henshaw of Youngstown and Nancy Dillon of Boardman; one brother, Roy S. Martz of Texas; three grandchildren, Gabrielle and Maddox Eagle, and Case Hart; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. and again Thursday morning from 10 until 10:50 a.m., at the church.
Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements of comfort and care are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
