AUSTINTOWN - Jeanne E. (Hahn) Timko, 76, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, Sep. 17, 2017.
She was born in Youngstown to the late James and Gertrude (Foley) Hahn on Feb. 22, 1941.
She had one sibling, James Hahn Jr., who survives her and resides in Gainesville, Ga.
Jeanne graduated Boardman High School's class of 1959, and went on to earn her R.N. license from the Youngstown Hospital Association School of Nursing in 1962. Afterwards, she worked in various fields of nursing over a 50 year career, most recently at Northside Hospital, where she retired from the Orthopedic floor in 2013.
She is survived by her son, Terrence "Terry" Timko of Cincinnati; his father, Raymond Timko of Canfield; and Terry's three sons, Joshua, Ethan and Daniel. She also leaves behind her dear companion, Jerry Bailey who took good care of her in the later years of her life.
Jeanne was a loving and good mother who delighted in her three grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to her son's swim meets and later, her grandchildren's. She also dearly loved her daughter-in-law, Maura (Mullane) Timko, who passed away in July of this year.
"We will always remember her love of travel, gardening, reading and eating out." She was an extraordinarily hard worker who soldered on through all forms of pain without complaint and served others where and when she was able. As the years went on, she spent more time with friends, neighbors and colleagues who enriched her life. She will be missed.
A brief memorial service will be held at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, 3701 Starr's Centre Drive on Friday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m.
There will be no calling hours or graveside services. She will be cremated.
Jeanne would have wanted, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to her grandchildren's education by going to any Huntington Bank and making a deposit to the Timko Family Education Fund.
