YOUNGSTOWN - A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, for Mr. Jeffrey M. Haefke, 45, who died Tuesday afternoon at the Cleveland Clinic.
Jeff was born April 23, 1969, in Youngstown, a son of Butch and Jean Murdock Haefke.
He was a 1987 graduate of Austintown Fitch and was a self-employed machinist.
Jeff enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and NASCAR. He especially enjoyed watching his sons race sprint cars. Jeff was able to watch his son, Jeff, race even after his lung transplant in 2012. He continued to attend races until he became ill. He enjoyed attending his son, Matt's, soccer games and playing a round of golf with him.
Jeff himself raced stock cars and emods, starting in his early 20s.
He leaves his dad, Butch (Patty) Haefke, and his mom, Jean Kochera; two sons, Jeff Haefke Jr. and Matt Haefke, and their mother, Lorraine Tufaro Haefke, of Youngstown; three sisters, Kimberly Haefke Waggett (Mike) of Houston, Tina (Ron) Epperhart and Jodi Haefke of Youngstown; three brothers, Steve Haefke (fiance Shelley Nastasi) of Youngstown, Bill (Hilary) Calton and Bryan (Kelly) Calton of Colorado; and nieces and nephews Brandon, Samantha, Christian, Brandon, Brady, Steve, Brittany, Jude, Axel, Crystal, Kristen, William and Brooke.
Jeff was preceded in death by his nephew, Robert Haefke.
Friends may call Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
