Jenny Markovich

BOARDMAN - A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Mrs. Jenny L. Markovich, 90, who died Wednesday evening at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center.
She was born July 6, 1923, in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Louise Zitto Galairde.
Jenny graduated from East High School in 1941 and then had worked at McKelvey's and Horne's Department Store as a salesclerk, retiring in 1991. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and was noted for her crocheting of afghans and scarves, which she gave to family and friends.
Jenny will be loved and remembered by her immediate family, her two daughters, Janice (Ross) Vitullo of Austintown and Carol (Mark Joseph) Yanik of Nicholasville, KY; three grandchildren, Vincent Vitullo, Janell (Chris) Gonsalves and Mark (Liz) Yanik; two great-grandchildren, Justin and Grace Gonsalves; and Mittens the kitten who loved Grandma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters Mary Fanelli, Rose Pickett, Josephine Seifert, infant sister Lucille; and one brother, Carl Galairde.
Friends may call on Saturday from 9 a.m. till the time of service at the funeral home.
