Jerome Odoguardi

AUSTINTOWN - Prayers will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church for Jerome F. Odoguardi, 64, who passed away late Sunday evening at Briarfield Manor with his family by his side.

Jerome was born Sept. 21, 1953, in Trebisacce, Italy, a son of Leonardo and Domenica (Picierro) Odoguardi.

Jerome was a 1971 graduate of The Rayen School and attended Youngstown State University.

In 2006, he retired from Delphi Packard Electric as a mold operator. After retirement, Jerome worked part-time as a custodian for Austintown local schools.

He was a member of St. Joseph Church.

He was an avid Indians, Browns, Cavs, OSU and YSU fan. Jerome enjoyed wood working, bowling, gardening, and many trips with his family and friends to the beach and Las Vegas. His greatest love was for his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Jerome leaves his wife of 44 years, the former Kathy A. Duffy, whom he married Sept. 29, 1973; his mother, Domenica Odoguardi of Youngstown; a daughter, Amy (Greg) Iacofano of Girard; a son, Jeff (Rowena) Odoguardi of Austintown; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Ava Iacofano; a sister, Laura (Tom) Basista of Boardman; a brother, Joseph (Susan) Odoguardi of Dublin; his father-in-law, Thomas Duffy of Youngstown; a sister-in-law, Dona Jane Barrett of Liberty; and two brothers-in-law, Charles (Christine) Duffy and Patrick (Linda) Duffy, both of Youngstown; and many nieces and nephews.

Jerome was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Ann Duffy.

Family and friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.

The Odoguardi family would like to thank the staff at Briarfield Manor and Hospice of the Valley for all their care and compassion, and a special thanks to Erin Smith who helped care for Jerome.
