Jessie Goodwin

June 7, 1923 — October 5, 2006

CANFIELD - There will be funeral services at 1 p.m. Monday at the Zion Lutheran Church, 3300 Canfield Road, for Jessie N. Goodwin, 83, who died of lung and liver cancer Thursday morning while resting peacefully at home surrounded by her beloved friends and family as she moved on to be with God and her many loved ones awaiting her.

Jessie was born June 7, 1923 in Coitsville, a daughter of her dearly loved mother, Marian Bruce Douglas Carstairs Jones and her father Thomas Jones, who passed away after 16 short months of her life.

Jessie is a 1941 graduate of Scienceville High School. She married Raymond Goodwin July 17, 1943. She was an amazing
homemaker and mother, a telephone operator for Ohio Bell Telephone Co., and a top sales woman for Young Look Cosmetics. She was a class A golfer and member of Leffingwell Hill Country Club. Jessie was an avid bridge player continuing to play on-line bridge up until her last days, winning
tournaments even then. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.

She leaves two daughters, Karen and her husband, Tom Bradbury of Washington and Rae Ellen and her husband, Luis Cruz of Poland; a sister, Marian Shaffer of California and her children; four grandchildren, Kevin Fisher and Karen Risley and Eli and Adam Blake Hanacek; four step grandchildren, Jenifer Branch, Jason Cruz, Lou Cruz Jr. and April Taylor; and four
great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Kenadee, Jerry Jr. and Zoe.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, her loving daughter, Jacque Fisher.
Jessie wanted to thank her doctor, Dr. Anne Stover, M.D., for her loving
care.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, and from noon to the time of services at the
church on Monday.

³You left us precious memories, Your love is still our guide: And though we cannot see you, You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; But as God calls us one by one, the Chain will link
again.²
