Joan L. Anderson

YOUNGSTOWN - Joan L. Anderson quietly departed this world on August 27, 2024, in Poland, OH, at the age of 93. Born on August 13, 1931, in Youngstown, OH, Joan brought joy and love to everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Joan loved to spend time with her family. Being involved with her family meant the world to her. She was a jigsaw puzzle enthusiast, always appreciating the precious time it took to build the portrait piece by piece. Joan had a special place in her heart for taking rides through Mill Creek Park and all the beautiful views it had offer. And among her many interests and hobbies, you can't forget to mention Handel's Ice Cream. 

Surrounded by her beloved family in her final moments, Joan’s passing marks the end of an era filled with cherished memories and profound love. She was the proud mother of three wonderful children, daughters Susan (Richard) Getz of Youngstown, OH, Gayle (Joseph) Horvath, and son Arthur (Deanna) Anderson of Salem, OH. Joan’s heart was boundless, and her love for her children was a constant in her life, shining brightly through the years. As well as her children, she shared many loving memories with her four grandchildren, Erica (Mark) Gostey, Donnie Getz, Adam (Lindsey) Anderson, and Ryan (Talia) Anderson.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Williams and Dorothy (Brenner) Williams, cherished husband, Raymond Anderson, her daughter, Gayle Horvath, and brothers Arthur and Robert Williams. The loss of these beloved family members deeply touched her heart, yet she found strength in the memories they created together.

There will be no services for Joan at this time. Her remains will be laid to rest at Mount Olivet Cemetery at a later date.
